Gun Named Trouble

Iron-Cowgirl-Background-041

She walks around the corner and under that hat
Her soft locks dancing on the wind
And just then my heart stopped stopped to stare
I turn away and try not to begin

Her eyes said it’ll never be
Her lips said come to me
My feet just tried to leave
My heart said wait let’s see

In her holster packed a Gun that she named trouble
used to shoot down broken hearts
I knew mine was next if I stayed the course
I may have just gone to far

Her eyes said it’ll never be
Her lips said come to me
My feet just tried to leave
My heart said wait let’s see
Some of this may have been a dream
But, It looks like trouble’s coming in
Her eye said it’ll never be
Her lips said come to me
My feet just tried to leave
My heart said wait let’s see

One whiff of her perfume sent me to my knees
tumbling head over heals this time
If I wake up I’ll feel bumps and bruises
Some day it may seem worth the ride

–chorus – –
–bridge – –
In her holster she packed a Gun that she named trouble
she uses it to shoot down broken hearts
But It looks like trouble’s coming in
– – chorus – –
–Extro–
Some of this may have been a dream
But, It looks like trouble coming in
Her eye said it’ll never be
Her lips said come to me
My feet just tried to leave
My heart said wait let’s see
In her holster she packed trouble

  1. Love the title, the picture of a dangerous woman naming her gun. And that the gun may or may not be metaphorical. And that the singer may or may not run. Or take a bullet.

So much potential here. I’d go for a more traditional 1-4-5 or 1-5-4 12-bar blues, and let the odd lyric and metaphor stand out.

    Worth exploring further.
